E Graphs cool or cheesy?

Post by trk306 on Thu Jul 19, 2012 9:36 pm

Just wondering what people think about this new [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Do you think its cool or cheesy? I'm not a big TTM person. I prefer IP so maybe thats why this isnt real appealing to me. I see the interest though. Its a nice way to pick up a personalized pic from somebody you want that is guaranteed to be from the actual player.

Sounds dumb! And can be a total scam!

cheesy!! and very easy to be a scammed. $50 you can get a decent HOFer at that price at a show.

I agree that it's cheesy. But I don't think the scam potential is very high. This seems like a legit thing. Some company who is trying to make a quick buck off of autograph hunters. I think the fact that the athletes are advertising it themselves makes it seem like they are really doing it. If anybody found out they were ghost signin or whatever it would probably put a start up like this out of business?

There's another thread here someplace about these I think.

These are not really for collectors, these are for kids who want one of their favorite players to say happy birthday to them. It's an idea that could float for a while if marketed properly, but I wouldn't pay a dime for one of these things.

My thoughts exactly, its not for the typical graph collector.

I had a chance to actually hang out with a guy who signs athletes for Egraphs and it is legit. I watched as several athletes actually signed up to do it and how it all works. It is a cool idea. I agree it is not for the typical grapher as we tend to want these guys in person or our own item signed but it would be cool to always have a personal message recorded from the athlete. I just thought I would share.

I agree with stdrwt11. If you really like an athlete a lot and have already graphed them in person, you may want to get the extra connection with your favorite athlete through an audio message. I think it would be cool to have an egraph in the collection.
