I picked up a bat that may have been used by Willie Mays and was just wondering if anyone knows what to look for on a bat of his? Thanks

Best thing is to check out the model number of the bat and find oout if that was the kind he used. Also its hard to prove it was his if you dont have paper work going with it. They made of hundreds of bats of the same model Willie had. Other players used them and also were produced and sold to the public.
Do you have a oic and what is the story behind the piece. I will do my best to help you identify it. I own a little over 100 + game used bats. I got all of mine direct from the players.

I looked into the bat more and found out that the bat was a model from 1980-82 so I know it wasnt his but for 5bucks worth a shot. Just found it at a flee market, the guy had lots of random things and I thought he might not have known what he had but I was wrong.
