In-Person (IP) Autographing Discussion

Post by coachk28 on Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:39 pm

First topic message reminder :

Since we have a couple threads dedicated to TTM graphing. I thought I would start one for In-Person (IP) autograph collecting.

Do you go to public signings, big sports autograph conventions, or hunt players down at games or practice?

Discuss everything that is in person autographing... your successes, failures, tips, experiences, etc. here!!!

I could've swore Hundley was a VIP at an MM show not too long ago. I obtained Hundley at the Convention back in 2007 or 2008. Can't remember. I think 2007.

Hundley spent pretty much the whole weekend in Kitty O'Sheas! Security wouldn't let you go in the bar and ask for autographs... so it was like a safe haven for some of the players.

We waited til 1:00 AM I think to get him as he walked out of the bar!

I then got him again in the autograph line... he signed 4 or 5 vintage cards for me.

First let me thanks James for all those autographs he got for me over the weekend! I think the board is coming along great! Crazy thing is it is the same size as my Bears one and that one filled up at 42 or 43 signatures. This one already has 38 and has TONS of room!

Time for another update. Once again I need to apologize for the quality of the pics ahead of time. It was a dimly lit bar and I had my cell and had to try to get 4 items signed. Thus limited pics and blurry! Doh!

Anyway, Markus Kruger and Viktor Stalberg were signing tonight at a bar/otb. It was two signatures from each of them. I had them each sign a puck along with a 11x14 photo. I didn't have many photos to choose from for Stalberg and ended up seeing just about half the people there with the same photo. But at least mine was bigger! haha For Kruger I picked an old photo from when he played for DIF in Sweden. When I gave it to him he immediately smiled and tapped Stalberg to show him. I asked him to inscribed his team name hoping for the full name but there was a little bit of a language barrier so he signed "DIF" which works for me.

Nice stuff! Picked up Stalberg at the 2010 convention when he came here from Toronto. Don't have Kruger though.

Coach K and I tonight picked up Alex Brown, Dez Clark, Rashied Davis and Adam Podlesh. Pics whenever he gets around to it, or tomorrow night when I am back on.

No pic of Podlesh signing, well not a pic worth posting, all you see is him(shoulders down) putting the cap back on the marker!

I hear ya on that. It's not a piece I plan on getting all serious about. I had a few in the closet so figured why not. But it sure brings back bad memories.

One of my good friends owns a Memorbila shop and Baton Rouge and one in New Orleans. He went to the show this weekend in Houston as a dealer and of course as a buyer. Here is his private signing with Barry Sanders:

I think he has enough Barry Sanders autos now
