In-Person (IP) Autographing Discussion

Post by coachk28 on Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:39 pm

First topic message reminder :

Since we have a couple threads dedicated to TTM graphing. I thought I would start one for In-Person (IP) autograph collecting.

Do you go to public signings, big sports autograph conventions, or hunt players down at games or practice?

Discuss everything that is in person autographing... your successes, failures, tips, experiences, etc. here!!!

IP graphing

Post by Bluemoon4655 on Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:27 am

I live in Houston, and some of my parents friends know him well. I also see him around town a lot, he consistently hits up the same places and I always see him around. I've met him before at a formal thing and he was really nice. My Parent's friend got me this for my birthday though.

I got James Harden IP autographs today, he was at footlocker, then a Sprint store. The footlocker thing was unexpected, I just ran over there as fast as I could and got a hat signed there. The security guards were shooing everyone away sayin "he will sign autos and take pictures at a Sprint store later in the day." So I go to the Sprint store, and once I get in there they say "sorry, no custom photos" I only got a crappy 4x10 piece of crap card that I dont know what the hell to do with. It wasn't a total fail, but I wanted to get something I could put up on a wall...Well heres the photos

Just got Colin Kaepernick. Not an easy autograph it seems. He refused everyone who asked....and one on one, he turned me down until I saw his agent whom I knew and she told him I was cool and he happily signed for me. Complete 180..saying no bro, sorry, we gotta go, to oh, okay, how you doing and thanks man.

He's in town for an event with the first lady. I figure the event would be impossible with secret service, so I tried for him at his hotel. What I can say is that he would not sign for the people chasing him at the airport and to the hotel. I waited it out for him to leave for dinner and he still wouldn't sign when it was only me....but I talked to his agent who remembered me and she asked him to sign for me. Pure luck....don't think he'll sign for anyone else while here.

The guys that chase for more than just a hobby helped me out. How they figure it all out, I really don't know. They are pretty friendly with me and I lean on them for help....and I was lucky enough to walk away with an autograph this time.

Tayshaun Prince (NBA Champ)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Grizzlies and Clippers Team Autographs:
-Some of the graphs on here include: Rony Turiaf (NBA Champ), Dexter Pittman, Ryan Hollins (personal friend from Twitter, lol) and Future HOFer, Chauncey Billups!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Deandre Joran. Pic from this insane dunk incase you havent seen: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Lamar Odom. I think he signed his head because it was a Laker photo. Maybe has some mixed feelings. Still love the graph anyway
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Mike Conley: Has been a personal favorite of mine for years now
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Tony Allen: He freaked out over this photo and demanded it, and actually took it from me. I told him I'd bring him one at some other point
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This arent some of the most valuable graphs, but the Grizzlies have been my favorite sports team for years. I already have Zach Randolph, so this just complimented it. I met Marc Gasol, but didnt get a graph in. next time...

I almost got Blake Griffin too, but missed him by a couple minutes, as he doesnt sign on the way out of warmups Sad I dont like the guy anyways, and the clips are Grizz rivals.

From what I've been told, from a really close source, Billups doesn't like signing for anyone but kids. Nice pick up.

I've got a Pistons jersey being signed by him through the same source, and he's always been one of my favorite players, and I really can't stand most NBA players.
