Saving Your Autograph Collection!

Post by coachk28 on Tue Dec 11, 2012 6:11 am

Here is a cheery thought to get you in the holiday spirit!

Say your place of residence is on fire and you quickly rationalize you can grab only five of your most prized autographs in your collection before the fire spreads to you (the rest of your collection will be destroyed)...

What five autographed items would you take?

(After you've gotten loved ones and pets out because they are hopefully more important than autographs.)

A collectors worst nightmare to chose a couple and lose the majority of your collection but it's interesting to think which five someone would pick. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I would just go down with my items. I would be like the captain of the Titanic.

I would save:
My Biggio Game Used Jersey (hope to get it signed at an upcoming show)
My Biggio Game Used Bat Signed
My FS NFL Helmet signed by many HOF and future HOF players
My Rockwets Game Used Court signed by the starting 5
My laptop so I can still have all the pics I have taken with athletes, those are hard to replace

I had to spend some time on this. Good thing a fire hasn't happened yet lol!

I hope I never have a fire or any other disaster that would ruin or lose my items!

I have already thought about items I would save in the event of this nightmarish incident:

1. Babe Ruth signed photo display
2. 1937 San Diego Padres team signed ball (Ted Williams signature)
3. HOF signed football
4. HOF signed bat
5. AAGPBL (A League of Their Own) signed jersey

I would make sure my fiance saves my OTHER five items:

1. HOF signed basketball
2. Michael Jordan signed bat
3. AFL signed helmet
4. Ichiro signed Mariners commemorative 262 jersey
5. Tomlinson signed TB helmet

This really gets you thinking...

1994 Phillies steam signed ball
Phillies historic newspaper collection (it's all in 1 book)
Pat Gillick's letter about his career as a GM
Cal Ripken Jr. Game Issued Bat
My inventory list and pricing guide to to replace everything with the homeowners insurance that covers it. Very Happy

Something non-collecting related would have to be all of my racing numbers, souvenirs and such. A lot if memories from my running is in that scrapbook, and I would be completely devastated if I lost it.
