Game used baseballs

Post by Stan Marsh96 on Sun Oct 14, 2012 10:14 am

Hi, I was on the Phillies site and on their shop they are selling game used baseballs from Halladay, Lee, and Hamels. I'm kind of skeptical of these "game used baseballs" Does anyone know if I should trust it, or is it too good to be true? Has anyone bought a game used baseball? Thanks for your help,

Its totally 100% authentic game-used baseballs. I have bought tons of game-used items off the internet. I bought a game used baseball from a phillies game and it has a coa that looks like this on the baseball:

(not my baseball but the COA is the exact same thing as all of mine and not even from a phillies game, by the looks of it it looks like a red sox game from this year.)

You can trust MLB and with their coding, you can look the COA up online & print it. That's where I got my White Sox GU Negro League Tribute pants from, for $30.

Yep, trustable source! Im not a big game used collector...dont see a point in it unless you can identify what play it was used on or if it was a significant hit/out/play, etc....then you could get it signed by that athlete

I agree with that. I stick to clothing, mainly hats. Easier to tell in photos if no COA is present. Luckily, the most I paid for a GU hat was $16.50, and that was Bucky "F-ing" Dent. It came from a Cardinals employee plus I photo ID'd it through Getty. Creases and bill shape matched, as well as size. Amazing how a lot of heads ran in the lower size 7 area. Anyone know a good site or guide for GU hat labels?
